REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT OF EVANGELICAL MEN

For every 10 men in the average church:

- 9 will have kids who leave the church
- 8 will not find their jobs satisfying
- 6 will pay the monthly minimum on credit cards
- 5 have a major problem with pornography
- 4 will get divorced
- Only 1 will have a biblical worldview
- All 10 will struggle to balance family & work

The typical U.S. Congregation draws an adult crowd that is 61% female, 39% male. This gender gap shows up in all age categories.  Men’s ministry needs to be more than just a group of guys eating pancakes in the basement of the church once a month. Men need to be involved in the church. Men need to be discipled. Men need to be challenged. Men need to have fun. Men need big events to be a part of from time to time.

The Pacific Conference Men’s Retreat 2006 was a great success. God used our speaker, H.B. London, in an incredible way. Attendance at retreat was larger than it has been in years with 240 men coming for at least part of retreat.

Next year we will be making a change. We are done retreating. It is now called Evangelical Men’s Summit. Men’s Summit will be held on March 16-17, 2007. Western Conference Superintendent Dale Erbele will be our speaker. Since the Men’s Summit will be on St. Patrick’s Day weekend, we will have a St. Patrick’s theme. It will be a lot of fun, and we look forward to what God will be doing during this time.

The Evangelical Men of the Pacific Conference is committed to act as a catalyst to ignite local men’s ministry, to motivate the men of the Conference towards a deeper relationship with the Lord and ministry in their local church.
