Please Pray for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Financial contributions can be made to the Pacific Conference, designated "Katrina" -- all funds will be forwarded to Northwest Medical Teams, an affiliate agency of the conference. Here is what the Pacific Conference has raised from those churches who have responded:

Breath of Life raised $1,750, most of which went to NW Medical Teams International with the remainder going to The Red Cross.

East Vancouver Church sent $450 to NW Medical Teams International (NWMTI). Evergreen Church in Lynnwood, WA gave $150 to a non-profit corporation in Bothel, WA, Helping Hands. In addition they gave some clothing and helped to pack a container for shipment through the same organization. Faith Church in Milwaukie has raised 1,697 for Northwest Medical Teams, and have also sent $500+ to Samaritan's Purse.

Harmony Church in Milwaukie sent $1100 to the Salvation Army for hurricane relief.

Retiree, George Hayes reports that a group from the retirement facility where he lives has raised over $400 for NWMTI with a "Hurricane Breakfast."

Labish Center Church raised over $5,000 for hurricane relief for NW Medical Team International.

Our new church, Mountain View Community Church has sent over $700 to help the adopted family in the Salem Church.

Oregon City Evangelical Church sent $6,747.03 to Northwest Medical Teams for Katrina/Rita relief. They also sent Teddy bears.

Renton Park Chapel raised $350 for Katrina Victims which went to NW Medical Teams. They also raised $500 for roofing materials for a needy widow.

Salem Evangelical Church is helping a family from Louisiana staying in town. They have helped this family with clothing, food, a vehicle, and shelter. In addition they have sent over $2,000 to Forward Edge, based in Vancouver, WA for rebuilding homes.

Sodaville Evangelical Church gave $600 to the Salvation Army for Katrina Relief. The funds raised at

South Albany Community Church went to the Mennonite Relief Fund (specifically for Hurricane Relief). The amount raised was:  $7,390.

Sweet Home Church sent $3000. through the Vennard College “Hurricane Katrina” relief program (the college had 38 students go to the area).

Vancouver First Evangelical Church raised and sent an offering of $5,269.10 to World Vision for Katrina relief in September. In addition, through Purpose Driven, they adopted a pastor. Pastor Walt Thompson of Gulfport First Church of the Nazarene, in Gulfport Mississippi. Besides praying for the pastor and keeping in touch, they will be sending $5,000 total in support for Pastor Thompson, whose wife, Debbie passed away three days before the hurricane hit. Vancouver First Church is looking for other opportunities to assist with this ongoing relief endeavor.

Praise the Lord for all of these responses as our churches have been stepping up to the Katrina/ Rita Hurricane Relief need.
