I. Assess baseline spiritual gifts data in your church

  • When has it been preached and taught?
  • What do you know about attendees' gifts?
  • How is that knowledge employed to shape ministry?

II. Council Devotional: Gifts in the Church

Emphasis on the work of the Holy Spirit to shape ministry through our personality and spiritual gifts to build the Kingdom through local churches.

III. Service Messages - 4 week series

  • The Work of the Holy Spirit In and Through Us
  • The Gifts of the Spirit
  • The Use of Spiritual Gifts in the Family
  • The Use of Spiritual Gifts in the Community and Church

IV. Sunday School/Small Groups – Simultaneous

Lessons follow up service messages with emphasis on gift definition through Scripture study, gifts identification through inventory, and gift application through home exercises and church ministry opportunity.

V. Re-evaluate Baseline Data - 3 months and 9 months

  • When will you promote and reinforce gifts use?
  • What data do you now have?
  • How are you using it to make ministry more effective?

VI. Other Ways to Reinforce Teachers

  • Annual appreciation banquet
  • Use gifts assessment as part of membership and recruitment
  • Identify gifts of those in scripture during teaching

VII. Promotional Pieces and Calendar

Posters, inserts, newsletter article, survey, theme, logo, artwork
